The Green Mountain Slate Quarry Association, formerly the Vermont Slate Quarry 

Association, is dedicated to providing education and support to the people of the Slate Valley region of Vermont. 

Projects

*GMSQA provides local town money for Holiday Lighting.

*GMSQA members donate money to the East Poultney Church  

*GMSQA donation to the Slate Valley Museum

*Slate Industry Economic Impact Study commissioned and currently underway

New members have been joining and our ranks are increasing. Recent meetings have focused on what we can do to help the community, the environment and the future of slate, promoting scholarships, green-up activities, helping to educate and improve our industry.

Open Letter to Governor Phil Scott and the Vermont Legislature:  22 industry groups, including the Green Mountain Slate Quarry Association, ask Legislature to focus on economic recovery, not “business as usual.

The VSQA video provides an introduction to the Green Mountain  Slate Quarry Association, its purpose and a bit of the Slate Valley quarrying history. The VSQA YouTube Channel will also feature upcoming member spotlights - short videos that focus on the unique aspects of our industry.

Economic Impact Study

The First draft of the GMSQA commissioned Economic Impact Study is currently under review by association members and is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
